Wylie Advances to Runoff in Precinct 4 Commissioner Race

David Wylie of Argyle came out on top in Tuesday's Republican primary for Denton County Commissioner, Precinct 4, leading the four-candidate field and earning a spot in the May runoff election.

With all precincts reporting, Wylie captured 36.86% of the vote — the strongest showing of the night. He will face Valerie Roerhs in the runoff after she edged out former Denton Mayor Gerard Hudspeth for the second position, finishing with 23.17% to Hudspeth's 22.31%. Incumbent Dianne Edmondson's reelection bid ended with just 17.66% of the vote.

The May runoff will be the deciding contest for who represents Precinct 4 on the Denton County Commissioners Court. Stay engaged and make your voice heard!

David Wylie officially launched his campaign for Denton County Commissioner, Precinct 4, surrounded by neighbors, community leaders, and longtime supporters from across Southwest Denton County.

The event drew an enthusiastic crowd eager to hear David's vision for better roads, responsible growth management, and strong public safety. David spoke directly about the road projects that have stalled for a decade and pledged to make infrastructure his day-one priority.

"Southwest Denton County has been ignored for too long. I live here, my family lives here, and I'm going to fight for the people of Precinct 4 every single day," said Wylie.
